New Funded Project to Decode Proteasome Failure in Neurodegeneration
We are pleased to announce that our new research project has been approved for funding and will begin soon.
The project will investigate early molecular mechanisms driving neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease, with a focus on age-related decline of proteostasis and nucleocytoplasmic transport in neurons. In particular, we will study dysfunction of the proteasome — the cell’s major protein degradation machinery responsible for removing damaged and misfolded proteins — and how its activity and localization are altered during ageing and disease.
We will soon be recruiting a postdoctoral researcher, a PhD student, and a research assistant to join the team.
Stay tuned for upcoming calls and further updates!
